Oh Mi Gawd! They're here!!!
All through my teens I listened to Aerosmith much to my pa's irritation. He used to threaten to throw the table cloth over the TV screen when Liv Tyler (she's the lead singer's daughter by the way) pole danced in Crazy. And my mom thought that the man's mouth filled up the entire TV screen (well that was about Steven Tyler!). My sister found Tyler's scream intolerable...well he is known as the Demon of screaming after all! And to quote Nikhil Chinnappa, if Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger were to be featured in a video, what would you see? Two Big mouths...you can't see anything beyond that..hehehe (Did he mention a David Bowie, not sure!)
But what the heck, the guys were drooling 24/7 looking at Alicia Silverstone in their videos...and we girls, well we just loved the fact that Dueces are Wild...and why 'Falling in love is so hard on your knees'. Their music brings back all those good ol' days spent loafing around in Trichy's BHEL township. That incredible video of 'fly away from here'...that awe inspiring 'Dream on' featuring that SCREAM...(recently covered by Eminem)
And there's harldy a die hard romantic who hasn't melted away to 'Don't wanna miss a thing'
I'm trying for the tickets, but apparently, given b'lore's history with rock n roll, there's a mad rush for the tickets...i have practically no hopes :( Anyway it has to be booked online; and our group's looking too small for now :(( [actually it's just 2 of us!..rest thought Aerosmith is someone who makes aeroplanes...a la gold smith!...aiyo!]
Here's the list of gods I've missed seeing perform live here in B'lore:
1. Roger Waters - college final sem exams; I still had plans of running away and returning by the intercity express!
2. Mark Knopfler...Adhaa Dire Straits - Tickets ellam arranged...suddenly had to leave to UK. Sold the tickets and left :(
and I am afraid Aerosmith is soon going to join this league :( (I've not included Iron Maiden, not a metal head anymore!)
*sigh* what wouldn't I do for all that energy and those scarves hanging down the microphone!
