Calvin’s Dad

All those familiar with Calvin couldn’t possibly have missed out his dad…and of course the kind of ‘answers’ he has for Calvin’s questions. The sad thing is there’s a Calvin dad in almost every dad!
I remember my dad not having ever taken the pains of really educating me reg. certain things. The most famous one; at least according to witnesses that day would be ‘The Pelican crossing’

Me: Pa, what’s pelican crossing?
Pa: eh?...where did you see that?
Me: There by the road side…
Pa: Oh…okie, may be someone breeds Pelicans somewhere near by
Me: oh!....hey wait a minute, why would you need a crossing for them?...they’re birds aren’t they…won’t they just fly across?
Pa: Of course they do…they fly yes, don’t they….but you see people need to be warned that their windshields are likely to become dirty!
Me: Oh!

So how many of you have more such pelican crossings to narrate? :D

Song on: Adrenaline
Mood: Blank

Sat dont know if you remember this post of mine
http://kaysonline.blogspot.com/2006/08/why-buildings.html
My nephew asked this, and my BIL and sis happily passed this q to me.
After a lot of thought answered in a typical Calvin's dad style saying since a tall structures take a long time to build, People say "They are building it" for a longer time, so they get used to saying "building" that they keep calling it building even after it is built :)
